4th of July Ride!!!

Just wanted to get it out there to let everyone know that we are going to be riding on the 4th of July. This is an old tradition that Bonnie Tomlin would like to start up again. We will be leaving from the Tomlin House and riding. When we return we will be enjoying a wonderful breakfast and snacks prepared while we were gone. There will be 2 groups that will be riding, the first will be doing a longer ride 25-40 miles at 7 and the second will be doing 10-15 miles and leaving at 7:15. This ride is for anyone and everyone!! WE NEED TO HAVE A HUGE GROUP!!!
IF you do not want to ride feel free to show up and help out with the preparation of the food and enjoy the festivities afterward. I know that I will be in the pool to cool off since it will be near 100! It promises to be a great time. If you have any questions ask them in the comments or ask if you see myself or Bonnie.

Track Workout!

What a great workout we had today! There were 6 people for the 2nd track workout, and a good workout it was. Chris, Zack, Tim, Kim, Ran and I all completed the work out. We did a mile warm up followed by 4 400's with 200 recovery in between, followed by 2 800's with 400 recovery, all at our individual T-pace. Everyone did great, just a warning, watch out for Zack he is going to be an animal! First track workout and he was running with me, not that I am that fast or anything, but watch out! Check out the file from my HRM below, 196 max on the last 800, in 2:37.

Hope to see everyone on Saturday for a training ride!~

More Group Workouts!

Last night we had our first Track workout!! Kim, Chris, and Tim all joined in the fun as we did our first weekly track workout! These are going to be held at 6:30 on Thursdays from now on. This will allow you to improve your speed and work on your form and efficeny. I am going to be taking video of everyone next week as I will from time to time so that they can see there running form. This can do wonders for some as they have no idea what there body is doing while they are running.
Saturday we will be meeting at Bicycle Outfitters at 6:00am for the start of our group ride. I am hoping to do a 3 mile TT which will allow everyone to get a benchmark for where they are at. This allows you to see how much better you are getting every other month as you continue to test yourself. I am hoping that there is a good size group so that we can all take part and encourage each other as we start to improve.
Train hard, rest Harder!

Deuces Wild and Weekly Events

Well it was a beautiful area for a triathlon in Show Low, AZ. The weather was great, too bad I wasn't!! I got a big fat DNF! Kimmy did good as she continued to improve. She drank more water this time, and is getting her running legs back under her. My running legs never showed up! My body had been fighting a virus for a couple of days and it was not meant to be. I will get up any pics later as they are available.
This week we will be having spin class at 6:30 on Tuesday. Last week we had 3 new quests that joined us. Saturday we will be having a group ride and there is a possibility that we will be doing a 3 mile time trial. This is a great opportunity to come out and test yourself. This is a race against yourself, no one else! This should be done about one every 2 or 3 months to gauge your process and set up your heart rate zones if your train with a HRM.
I hope to see everyone there, hope everyone has a great week!!
"The will to win is nothing without the will to prepare!"

Check out the video it is funny! I went through this on Saturday during my DNF! I think we have all been through this at one point or another. See how many other areas you can apply it to, especially at work!
